I was extremely disappointed after reading this book. Picture an extravagant Iranian comedy that is trying so hard to be funny by inventing the most unrealistic bullshit stupid scenarios and hopes to surprise you in the fake craziness of it all. The book is supposed to be about his life in America, but it's mostly a collection of fictional joone-man-bekhand stories. The theme is always the same. There's no wit, just crazy.

One chapter he dresses up as a terrorist and kidnaps his daughter's boyfriend by pretending he's Saddam's agent. Next chapter, his friend goes to Iraq to get a sex change operation. Next chapter, he takes his son to a circumcision party where the son realizes he likes to torture people. Next chapter, he pulls a monkey out of his wife's ass. Next chapter, he pushes the money back in. It's just so exhaustive.

The other reason I didn't like it was because his character in the book is so lame, irresponsible, stupid and lazy. Have you seen the film Meet Bill ? It's like that times 20.
